Alkaline=Awesome Health

882729_408625085900310_680319641_oI have been getting asked about the Alkaline foods alot recently, so just to give you a simple definition, basically Alkaline= Plant Based foods (green leafy vegetables like cabbage, kale, lettuce and spinach, other excellent sources include almonds, avocados, bananas, beats, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, potatoes and watermelon ect). Your body will reap the rewards by incorporating 80% Fruits and Vegetables and 20 % Fish, Chicken and Good Carbs in your diet. Of coarse this does not always apply for me on weekends or special occasions.  “Alkaline foods elevate the body’s pH balance, turning it from acid to alkaline. Acidic environments disrupt oxygen absorption and contribute to such serious conditions as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes and cancer. Eating alkaline foods not only helps prevent those conditions, it assists in alleviating stress and increasing energy.”

577911_408623289233823_1050086392_nStarting your day with a Vegetable Smoothie is a great way to get some of your daily dose in one hit- as well as being very alkalizing and filling you up.   Within 20 minutes of drinking your juice, the nutrients are already working your arteries and eins and the absorbtion rate is 99% as oppose to 50% when eaten raw.  Here is another recipe to try out , Blend or Juice : 1 Cucumber, 2 Tomato’s, 1 avocado, 1 Handful of Kale or Spinach, Half Red Pepper, 1 Scoop of Mega Greens or Clean and Lean. If you have this or a green type of smoothie mostly veggie based every day- you will soon see and feel the benefits.
