I just down loaded this APP: MY NET DIARY and am completely obsessed! It’s smart, easy and comprehensive. It lets you track your daily activities, eating habits, calories you consumed and burned as well as giving you an analysis of what you need to have more or less of in your diet eg: sodium, trans-fats, and sugar. You can either scan the barcode of your products or simply type in. A great way to help you put the right foods in your mouth and motivate you to move your toosh.

Although the thought of a food diary seems a bit daunting. By writing down everything you consume on a daily basis will give you a better insight to your eating habits. This does not have to be forever but over time you will be more cautious of your choices – resulting in a healthier eating approach. Starting off with a diary will help you get into a good routine, and eventually you won’t even need the diary.

Keeping fit takes time, effort, and energy. To stay in shape- I suggest having a weekly realistic plan and pencil in at least 2-3 physical activities a week. For people who have less movitavtion I think that taking classes you enjoy make it feel fun and not such a chore. Over time you will feel good, look good and have an abundance of energy. Make sure you are paying attention to what you eat, moving as much as you can, and getting you 8-9 hours of sleep to help prepare for the next day. So check out yoga, pilates, spinning, zuma, boxing, or mix it up- whatever the activity you may choose. Enjoy and Get Fit!

There are several benefits of stretching and I strongly suggest making it apart of your fitness routine. It increases flexibility, improves circulation, balance and coordination. As well as alleviating lower back pain and helping your overall cardiovascular health. Try a Gentle Yoga class that focuses primarily on stretching like restorative and Viniyoga.

Most of you pre or post work out, go for the H20 which is fine….; however I have now swapped my big gulps of water for a bottle of ZICO Coconut Water. Here’s why: Coconut water is packed with a potassium (even more than 1 banana), it supports rapid hydration, and also full of electrolytes (sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus)- these all contribute to optimal performance and replenish and rehydrate before or after your work out, this is also great if you have had the stomach flu and lost a lot of fluid or have had one too many cocktails the night before.
